A Dream...
- a leadership that is more concerned about excellence in character and relationship than pomp and glory
- a people committed to real relationships – who aren't deterred by the effort and sacrifice, the pain and mess, that is mandated by true love
- a body that cares, serves, disciples, and takes responsibility for themselves and one another
- a church that is real – authentic, transparent, gracious, honest, joyful and transformational
- a movement that has more to do with the Kingdom than kingdoms
- a vision whose scope goes beyond the borders of it's own walls, town, county, state, and nation
- a movement that is “too dumb to know it can't”, who prays prayers that reflect the naïve heart and imagination of a child, assuming that God is God and that He will do what He will do with those who are willing, and well, just that – too dumb to know they can't...
…accomplish fantastic things with a God who is not constrained by our ideas and fears, our presuppositions and experiences
...be used – despite sin and brokenness
...worship honestly
the big picture: that mosaic (mansfield) would be the beginning of something much, much larger than itself. It is the first of 10 to 15 churches in the next 10 – 15 years.
Churches:
- led by leaders and shepherds who are called to the fine and painful art of discipleship – graciously building into men and women of grace.
- that are consumed with the truth that God came to seek and save the lost
- to relieve us from the weight of the law and sin
- to transform us into the likeness of His Son
- to be part of a body that is joyful and expectant
- to be sent out to communities to serve and share their hope, meeting them where they are with gentleness and respect
- that are as visionary as the first church – each committing to praying, loving, serving, discipling and sending out
What we are doing now, and how we do it is merely the beginning of, God willing, a movement that heals the wounded and finds the lost. |
