What We Are Building On

Foundations of Ministry:

We believe that a church body is built on these foundational principles derived from the Great Commandment

Loving God…

In John 14:5, Jesus declared that His, God’s love language is obedience (“if you love me, keep or obey my commands”).  We believe that the scriptures are the very expression of God’s heart, mind and will in written form for the purpose of sound instruction and are useful for salvation, instruction and transformation of character and lies into the likeness of Christ.

James 1:22-25Psalm 19:7-11

A Proper Concept of Christ…

Knowing Jesus – incarnate, crucified, risen – savior and Lord – who He is as God, Son, Savior, and who we are in Him; who we are to the Father through Him; how He sees us, etc.  We believe that a foundational building block of the Church and the disciple is a recognition of all things Jesus as declared in (His) Word.

Prayerful Dependence…

Prayer is the supernatural connection between God and His children, a tangible expression of the intimate and trusting relationship we have with our Father as well as an exercising of the privilege and responsibility we have as “priests” as we, as God’s children, present requests – by prayer, an exchange of wishes, and petition, the pouring out of our heart, to God, on our own behalf, as well as on behalf of others, by the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of the Son, Jesus.  We have the honor of imitating and joining with Jesus and the Holy Spirit in intercession for all the saints and to honor God by engaging with Him in prayer, thanks, praise and intercession – as we believe prayer to be a vital link in our relationship with our heavenly Father.

Loving others as self…

An atmosphere of love — an environment that expresses and cultivates love, safety, grace and mercy… breaking down barriers.  A loving community dedicated to building genuine relationship of impact.

Acts 2:42-47James 2:1-48-9

A Biblical Group Image…

Having an understanding that the church is not merely a community or organization, a team or club, but a body – a living organism – coursing with the Spirit of God.  We as a body, or fellowship, must possess a firm belief, an anticipation and confidence, of something miraculous, something divine – that we are greater than the sum of our parts, and even more so because God moves among and through us by His Spirit – so we can and should have an expectancy of God’s moving and acting among us.

Acts 2:43-45

Consistent, Caring Contact…

Corporate networking utilizing small groups and leadership to assure members of their care, belonging and significance – we all need to know that we are appreciated and cared about.  It is amazing how a simple note, text, Facebook message, or phone call can change the course of your day. To know that someone cared enough to think of you and take a moment of their time and day to reach out can turn the worst day into something much better – even give you a sense that you belong and someone cares.  Care enough to CONTACT.

At Mosaic we believe that there are 6 foundational building blocks on which to establish a healthy balanced church. We are committed to assuring that each and every ministry be built on this same foundation. Therefore each ministry will have woven into its fabric the regular practice of each and all of these essential elements.

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:37-40
